According to the NMMF's Venn-Watson, the marine mammal community has already invested millions of dollars in tracking the emergence of new marine mammal diseases, especially viruses, but "now the challenge is becoming which ones we should care about." I didn’t realize how many people don’t like this book until I read some reviews on amazon when ordering the book a few months ago. Sea animals can become entangled in the plastic debris which can cause strangulation or growth deformations.

While the shell is worn, the picture probably shows the Pear Whelk (busycotypus spiratus), a medium sized species (3-5 inches) that lives in coastal waters from North Carolina, south into the Gulf of Mexico. The first classification, called cetacea, spend their entire lives in the ocean. Currents also move food and nutrients from the coast further out into the sea. Ambergris eggs and muktuk?
